Klaus is now getting to grips with his agility training in that he actually watches what the other dogs do. He now goes around the course with a long training lead trailing so he actually thinks he is off lead. He is fab. I guess the next step will be off lead completely. He loves it, you can see the concentration in his face as he tackles the see-saw and the collapsable tunnel. We are very proud of his progess.

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010Last Saturday Malcolm and I took Klaus to agility training. For a big boy, he is such a baby! We started on the ‘A’ Frame and he cried all the way up and all the way down but after a couple of goes, he got the hang of it, and enjoyed the treat at the end. He then moved onto the baby walk which is a plank up, a plank along and a plank down. He really didn’t like walking the plank but again with a bit of encouragement, he did it. The jumps were easy for him and the tunnel was fine once he saw his ‘dad’ waiting at the end! After all the practice, we did a complete circuit with no issues. Well Done Klaus!
Klaus resumes puppy training
Thursday, March 4th, 2010We finally managed to get Klaus to puppy training again on Tuesday. After spending a night and day at the kennels whilst we attended a course, he was quite excitable. His sit and stay was rubbish but I am not sure whether it was Malcolm who was rubbish by not being forceful enough. Klaus’ recall was superb but he knew a treat was waiting for him.
Klaus is very good with other dogs but when people approach him he still tends to bark. If however, people ignore him and let him go to them, he is great and lets them pet him with no problems at all.
We are taking Klaus to agility training on Saturday. Hopefully he will enjoy this as it will exercise his brain as well as him. Look out for an update on Sunday.
